Small hot tub

Small hot tubs: plenty of wellbeing in little space

A town terrace, a corner of the garden, a reinforced balcony: often it is the space, not the wish, that decides the hot tub. The compact models in the North Wave range measure no more than 2.12 m on any side, and some still take five people.

Small does not mean basic. These models keep the same acrylic shell, the same insulation and the same electronics as the large ones. What changes is the volume of water, and with it the weight, the running costs and the ease of delivery.

Our advice

Measure the space, then the access

A compact hot tub fits more easily into a town garden, but it still has to get there: gate, hallway, stairs. Measure the width of the narrowest point before choosing. Our article on delivery and crane lifting explains what to measure.

Count the seats you really need

A couple who want to lie back will choose a 2 or 3 seat model with two reclined seats. A family of four who would rather sit together will look instead at the Sørrana or the Øppland, which seat five people in a square of 2 m to 2.11 m.

Less water, less weight

Small hot tubs hold from 640 to 1,030 litres. Once filled, they weigh far less than a large model, which simplifies the slab and opens the door to some terraces, once a professional has assessed what the structure can bear.

Frequently asked questions

What is the smallest North Wave hot tub?

The Stølen: 212 × 150 cm and 73.5 cm high, two reclined seats and 640 litres of water. It runs on 16 A plug and play.

Can a small hot tub seat five people?

Yes: the Sørrana seats five (three seated, two reclined) in 200 × 200 cm, and the Øppland seats five in 211 × 211 cm.

Can a small hot tub be installed on a balcony?

Sometimes, but never without the advice of a structural professional. The weight of a filled hot tub with its bathers far exceeds what an ordinary balcony can carry. Our article on terraces and balconies explains the process.

Does a small hot tub use less energy?

With equal insulation, less water to keep warm takes less energy. Our energy consumption page gives an estimate for each model.
